Captain Elias R. Monfort Bedroom

Captain Elias R. Monfort entered Gettysburg as a Captain with the 75th Ohio Volunteers.  On the second day near the base of Cemetery Hill, Captain Monfort survived horrendous wounds from an Enfield bullet, which also struck his saber. Believed to be fatal, amputation near the thigh joint was considered, but eventually rejected.

The Monfort Room, now much more elegant than Monfort himself enjoyed in 1863, perfectly provides a rest stop.  Furnished with Louis XV French antiques and decorated with photos of the soldier-statesman, the Monfort Room has a stately ambiance.   The views of the front and side yards add to the feeling. Modern amenities including air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations complete the room.
