ROOM RATES     All our rates are based on double occupancy and always include a full country breakfast.  There is a $25 fee for each additional adult in rooms that will accommodate them, children under the age of 18 are an additional $10 each.  Our accommodations are not suitable for children under 10 years of age in the main house.  Exclusions may apply for holidays, special events and package plans. Single travelers receive a $20 per night discount Sunday through Thursday nights.  AAA discounts available midweek and multiple night stays.

Rates do not include PA sales tax or Adams County pillow tax, and are subject to change.   We require a two-night minimum stay on most weekends and holidays.  One-night stays are welcomed if there is availability on the Monday before the requested weekend.   A deposit of $100 paid by check or credit card will secure your reservation.  We accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover.  A full night's fee will be collected for  "no show" reservations.   Cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance of your planned stay to receive a refund of the deposit, less a $10 cancellation fee.  The deposit will be forfeited for a late cancellation unless the room can be rebooked.  OTHER PARTICULARS Smoking is permitted outdoors, in limited areas. Check-in is from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Special arrangements must be made for later check-ins. Checkout is by 11:00 am. Breakfast is served between 8:00 am and 9:00 am each morning. Children 10 or older are welcome in the main house, children of any age are welcome in the Walnut Cottage. We regret we cannot accommodate pets. Ample parking is provided.  Free wireless Internet access throughout the building. Custom gift certificates available upon request.   Packages Ghost Tales from the Past  Miss Betty Smith, well known Gettysburg storyteller will give you a 90 minute ghost tour which includes the most haunted sites in the Gettysburg area.  This is a unique tour available only through the Lightner Farmhouse. Paranormal Investigation This can be scheduled in conjunction with the Betty Smith Ghost Storytelling Tour and is conducted by our other "Miss Betty".  Miss Betty Roche, founder of the Gettysburg Paranormal Society, will introduce you to the techniques of "ghost hunting", the equipment she uses and will tell you some of her experiences. Then you go outdoors at the Lightner Farmhouse to an area where orbs and ectoplasm are routinely photographed.  Bring your digital cameras and be prepared for an eerie experience.Fee of $15 per person and not suitable for children under age 10.  Also available is a 3 hour Gettysburg area/farmhouse tour for $25 per person with a complimentary CD of photos taken on the investigation.  Betty Roche is an independent contractor and will be paid directly by the guest. Storytellers and paranormal investigators are independent contractors and may charge a cancellation fee.   Fun and Romance Packages Sweethearts Special Add to your room rental any or all of the following:  bottle of wine or champagne, flowers, candy. Dinner reservations are available at your favorite area restaurant.  Each priced separately.  Rent the Pine Tree Suite or the Walnut Cottage and breakfast can be delivered to the room.  Enjoy our off season rates during the Valentines Day period. Shopper's Delight Tell us your shopping passion:  Teddy bears at Boyd's, bargains at the Gettysburg Village Outlet Mall or antiques and we will give you directions and advice.  We supply wrapping paper as needed.  Take advantage of this in December and "wrap up" your Christmas shopping while you visit the Lightner Farmhouse. Family and Friends Reunion Rent the six rooms in the main farmhouse or all seven rooms on site for a private reunion of friends and family.  The lower level Gathering Room is ideal for games and conversation.  Breakfast menus can be chosen by the group leader and the Hoovers will help with suggestions on touring and activities for the group.  Enjoy our 21 acres for strolling.  Best of all there is NO CHARGE!!!
