Dennis and Eileen Hoover took ownership of the Lightner Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast on March 1, 2004. Visitors to the Gettysburg area recognize them from the Cashtown Inn, which was in their ownership from 1996 until 2006.

Eileen has a Master's degree in American history and a brief career teaching on the secondary level followed by 16 years at the preschool level. She is the Human Resource Director and Front Desk at the B&B.  Hobbies include decorating, reading, travel, studying history and playing with her pugs. Eileen also writes and produces Murder Mystery weekends for the winter season.

  Dennis had a career in the Navy band playing trumpet, and later played in a German Polka band for many years. His work career was in ownership of an auto body repair shop and towing service. He is the maintenance expert and passionate gardener. He also cooks a great breakfast!

  Both Hoovers enjoy the variable schedule that owning a B&B allows, and love meeting guests of all ages, interests and backgrounds. Their goal is to give outrageous service to each guest. With a very personal approach to innkeeping, they believe each guest who enters the front door is a prospective friend. Because staff members at the B&B share their philosophy, the Hoover properties are among the friendliest places in Gettysburg.
