Ghost  Stories

Miss Betty's Ghosts In Gettysburg

Book either or all three of the following during your stay:

Betty Smith, well known Gettysburg storyteller will give you a 90 minute ghost storytelling tour which includes several haunted sites in the area.  This is a unique tour only available to guests of the Lightner Farmhouse.  The fee is $50 per couple with group discounts available.

Ghost Walks in Town

We recommend Ghostly Images of Gettysburg as a Ghost Walk company.  Author Joe Svehla conducts an Author's Tour on Saturday evenings in season.  Midnight in A Haunted House is offered on Friday and Saturday evenings and a variety of walking tours are available.  Please click on their website at www.gettysburgbattlefieldtours.com.   Also we prefer you schedule directly through them in order to get exactly the tour you want.

Paranormal Investigation of the Lightner Property

Join paranormal investigator and founder of the Gettysburg Paranormal Society, Betty Roche, for an eerie investigation of the Lightner Farmhouse property after dark and up close.  Betty will give an introductory talk citing her investigative work and the equipment she uses, followed by an opportunity to walk the property and go into a building where orbs and ectoplasm are routinely photographed.  Bring your digital camera for an unforgettable experience.  $15 per person fee.

Murder Mysteries on the Farm

Lightner Farmhouse is pleased to announce  a new interactive Murder Mystery for the 2009 Winter season.  Entitled Murder At the Farm, it is a participatory mystery with each guest playing a character (no memorization or script).  Families and groups of friends especially enjoy the experience of stepping out of their normal persona for a few days of fun.

2008 and 2009 dates for the Murder Mystery are Available .  The cost is $355 per couple for a queen room and $455 for a suite plus applicable room tax.  The cost includes two nights' lodging, two cooked breakfasts, a Friday evening cheese and wine party, Saturday night dinner at the Farmhouse (surf and turf),  and the fun of playing the mystery.    Gather your group and book early!!!   A group of 8 or more persons may schedule this Murder Mystery on a weekend of their choice with rates somewhat higher in high season.
