Miss Betty's Ghosts In Gettysburg Book either or all three of the following during your stay: Betty Smith, well known Gettysburg storyteller will give you a 90 minute ghost storytelling tour which includes several haunted sites in the area. This is a unique tour only available to guests of the Lightner Farmhouse. This tour is available normally at a cost of $20 per person. Group rates and childrens rates may be available at the time of the tour. Contact Miss Betty for that information. Combine this with dinner at J's at the Village for only $70 per couple (a $90 value). Please book prior to arrival. This may not be available over the winter.
Ghost Walks in Town
We recommend Ghostly Images of Gettysburg as a Ghost Walk company. Author Joe Svehla conducts an Author's Tour on Saturday evenings in season. Midnight in A Haunted House is offered on Friday and Saturday evenings and a variety of walking tours are available. Please click on their website at www.gettysburgbattlefieldtours.com. Also we prefer you schedule directly through them in order to get exactly the tour you want.
Paranormal Investigation of the Lightner Property Join paranormal investigator and founder of the Gettysburg Paranormal Society, Betty Roche, for an eerie investigation of the Lightner Farmhouse property after dark and up close. Betty will give an introductory talk citing her investigative work and the equipment she uses, followed by an opportunity to walk the property and go into a building where orbs and ectoplasm are routinely photographed. Bring your digital camera for an unforgettable experience. This is a 3 hour program which includes sites off the Farm property for a fee of $25 per person. The winter event is a 2 hour typically from 4:30 to 6:30 PM and can be packaged with dinner at J's for $75 per couple.
Murder Mysteries on the Farm Lightner Farmhouse is pleased to announce a new interactive Murder Mystery for the 2010 season. It is a participatory mystery with each guest playing a character (no memorization or script). Families and groups of friends especially enjoy the experience of stepping out of their normal persona for a few days of fun.
2010 dates for the Murder Mystery are Available . The cost is $60 per person plus the cost of the room rental. The cost includes a Friday evening snack, a Saturday evening dinner and the fun of playing the mystery. Gather your group and book early!!! A group of 6 or more persons may schedule this Murder Mystery on a weekend of their choice when booking all the rooms. Consider a Sunday through Thursday evening one night stay with a Murder Mystery included. Rates are $50 per person plus the room rental fee and this includes room rental, dinner plus the Murder Mystery and breakfast the next morning.This is also available for a group of 6 or more persons. History and Hospitality Weekends on the Farm
Sponsored by the Bed and Breakfasts Inside Gettysburg and hosted by Dennis and Eileen at the Lightner Farmhouse, these weekends are an escape into history and hospitality. Please phone us at (866)337-9508 for more information. The Lightner Farmhouse was used as a Civil War hospital by the 1st Corp of the Federal army following the Battle of Gettysburg. Much if its history has been preserved and the Hoovers are happy to share it with you. Feel free to borrow a battlefield auto tour for your free time during the weekend.
All these weekends will be discounted 10% per couple on room rates, not package items, for 2 or more couples booking rooms for the same weekend so go ahead and bring some friends!!!! The February event can be given as a gift certificate to the history lover in your life. Our next offering of history weekends: Lincoln at Gettysburg--The weekend of February 19, 20 we will walk in the footsteps of President Lincoln as he came to Gettysburg to deliver the famous Gettysburg address. Friday evening is on your own. Following breakfast explore the town or the battlefield. At 1 PM we meet author and tour guide Roy Frampton for a tour of the National Cemetery. Each couple will receive a copy of his book. Dinner at Herr Tavern will feature a visit from President Lincoln himself who will greet each guest, chat throughout dinner and then give a brief talk. Cost is $330 to $415 depending on room choice. March 19, 20 and 21Girls Just Wanna Have Fun-Gather a few of your best friends (or just one) and take part in our Inns of Gettysburg arts and crafts weekend. 2 night room rental plus Saturday Make and Take Workshops with lunch for $175-217 per person depending on room choice. The Spirited Ladies of Gettysburg, a group of premier artists, are presenting the workshops which will be held in the Herr Tavern.
